For the uninitiated, iHerb is a US-based site that sells supplements, skin care, cosmetics, groceries and even baby products at wholesale prices. Feel free to check out the iHerb-Singapore shopping guide if you’re a first-timer or if you’d like to get more out of your iHerb shopping.
Anyway, on to what I got this time (I placed my order on the 22nd September and received it on the 27th, shipped via SingPost):
Nubian Heritage African Black Soap
This soap smells like dessert. I’ve been using it for nearly a month and I love how it smells! The soap bar has received almost 7,000 reviews with an average of 4.5 stars out of 5 but I prefer liquid soap so I got the above instead.
Nutribiotic Unscented Talc-Free Powder
Compared to the body powders you can find locally, this is a bit pricey at around S$6 for a 113g bottle but it’s talc-free. Talcum or talc has been linked to certain cancers so I thought it’d be a good idea to switch to a talc-free alternative. (Besides body powders, talc is used in cosmetics, lotions, deodorants and so on). Good thing iHerb has a large selection of talc-free products.
Nutiva Organic Virgin Coconut Oil
At just S$15, this organic cold-pressed virgin coconut oil is a steal compared to the ones available in Singapore. Similar products are sold for around $20 or more locally if you can even find them, and they’re usually not as fresh. I’ve seen tubs of coconut oil on the shelves of local high-end supermarkets that were so old there was a brown, cloudy layer inside. The tubs were in a clear container so the contents were visible. You won’t get the same problem from iHerb because they have an extremely fresh inventory and a high turnover.
Charlie’s Soap Laundry Powder
If you’re looking for a non-toxic, environmentally-friendly laundry powder, this is it! I’m on my second tub and it cleans really well.
More E.L.F. Cosmetics
If you make smoothies or protein shakes, this might be useful. I’ve bought like 5 or 6 bottles to give to people already. They come in variety of colors and sizes and are also BPA-free.
Secure Cleansing Tablets
Got these on offer to clean my removable retainers. They can also be used for dentures and removable braces. These are around S$7.60 regularly but I don’t usually buy stuff like this so I’m not sure if they’re cheaper, but if this is something you use, you might want to check it out here and do a comparison yourself.
Andalou Naturals Hair Spray
Andalou Naturals is one of my favorite brands on iHerb. They carry a wide selection of natural skin and hair care products that work well and are priced reasonably — this hair spray is no exception!
