According to their web site, they process and deliver your purchase within 2 working days after confirming the order. There’s a delivery charge of $10 for orders under $80 but it’s free if you self-collect at their outlets or buy over $80 worth of stuff.
What’s Not Worth Buying
Examples of brands you should not be getting from Watsons if you don’t want to pay more:
Avalon Organics Products
The Avalon Organics Hand & Body Lotions are sold at S$16.90 a 340g bottle at Watsons Singapore while iHerb carries the exact same thing for just US$9.24 (~S$12) a bottle. iHerb has a fixed shipping charge of $4 per order but it’s still totally worth it if you are buying multiple items.
The above is just an example, all the Avalon Organics products I checked including their shampoos, conditioners, cleansers, and other face and hair products are cheaper on iHerb.
Watsons carries Giovanni hair care products in their store too, and prices them at $13.90 to $14.90. On iHerb, they’re mostly under S$8 after converting to SGD.
Here’s a comparison table I previously created for my iHerb Singapore review.
|Brand||Product||Local Price (SGD)||iHerb Price (SGD)||Your Savings|
|Avalon Organics||Avalon Organics Tea Tree Scalp Treatment Shampoo||$13.90||$10.28||26%|
|Avalon Organics||Biotin B-Complex Therapy Thickening Shampoo||$22.90||$10.76||53%|
|Avalon Organics||Avalon Organics, Hand & Body Lotion, Lemon||$16.90||$11.24||33%|
|Avalon Organics||Avalon Organics, Scalp Normalizing Shampoo, Tea Tree Mint Therapy||$22.90||$10.76||53%|
|Giovanni||Giovanni Natural Mousse||$14.90||$7.97||47%|
|Giovanni||Giovanni Smooth As Silk Conditioner||$14.90||$7.08||52%|
Since Watsons doesn’t have their full inventory on the online store yet, this space is reserved for anything else that may come along. However, I saw Eco Tools in their physical store, and that’s definitely not worth buying!
What’s Worth Buying
As much as I dislike how much they mark up many of their products, Watsons Singapore carries some items that don’t seem to be available anywhere else at lower prices.
Cure Natural Aqua Gel
The Cure Natural Aqua Gel is exclusive to Watsons and I haven’t been able to find it cheaper than $49 a bottle anywhere else (it used to be $42 but they increased prices!). Right now, it’s at a promotional price of $39 so if you’re looking to stock up on a few bottles of Cure, it’s probably a good idea to get them from Watsons soon.
Watsons House Brand
Watsons also has their own house brand products, some of which I’ve tried and others I heard were quite good. For example, I’ve used two tubs of their Avocado Hair Treatment Wax and it made my hair softer after each use. And since it’s house brand, it’s not only exclusive but also considerably cheaper ($6.90 for a 500ml tub) than the other stuff that they carry.
Local brands such as Bio-Essence or Silky Girl are priced similarly everywhere so they might be worth buying. However, some of these are cheaper at local shops such as Red Tomatoes. Too bad Red Tomatoes doesn’t have an online store!
